About The Biscuit Eater Cafe & Bookstore

The Biscuit Eater is a welcoming community cafe and bookstore serving homemade, handmade goodness (and biscuits!) year round in one of Mahone Bay's oldest buildings. Built in 1775 our building has been part of this historic town for over 200 years and now a new generation is putting their love and hard work into what is surely the coziest cafe in Nova Scotia. Fresh baked biscuits, comfort food made with locally sourced seasonal ingredients, stacks of baked treats, delicious soups, beautiful salads, and daily specials are all made with care in our kitchen. Take a seat by the hearth in a cozy chair, have lunch in the library, find a good book, grab a locally roasted coffee, visit with old friends or make new ones in the common room - here the warmth of community is alive, well, and waiting to welcome you. More than just a cafe, The Biscuit Eater is a community working hard to create a new economy and way of doing business where people, places, and the planet come first. Join us for potlucks, community projects, playgroups, pop-ups and markets where we are making a better culture by throwing excellent parties!
