Angus Bonnyman feels fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the world. From the vibrant community of Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia - a village on the Sunrise Trail surrounded by ocean, forests, and farms - Bonnyman runs Bonnymans’ Wild Blueberries & Natural Products Ltd.
Since 1971, Bonnyman’s family has grown wild blueberries in Northern Nova Scotia, with over 200 acres of fields in production today. These fabulous spray-free wild blueberries are grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides, and it shows.
When the sawmill industry collapsed in Nova Scotia and soon after, the wild blueberry industry took a sharp downturn, Bonnyman saw an opportunity to transition his family’s abundant blueberry fields and healthy forests towards a new sustainable business, focused on artisanal non-timber forest products.
